Toyota Corolla Altis – Sleek Looks and Stylish Performance

The 11th generation Toyota Corolla Altis from Toyota Kirloskar Motors Pvt. Ltd. has finally hit the market. The car is available in both the petrol and diesel options. The new Toyota Corolla Altis is the 11th generation model of the Toyota Corolla and comes equipped with excellent features like Keyless Entry with Jack Knife Design, 5.8 touchscreen audio with DVD, Rear sun shade and Day time running lamp. In its segment, it competes against the likes of Volkswagen Jetta, Hyundai Elantra and Skoda Octavia.

Exterior

The latest version of Toyota Corolla Altis sports an aerodynamic body structure and boasts of stylish features. It has a large windscreen, powerful halogen lights, electrically adjustable external wing mirrors and body colored bumper. A pair of reflectors on the body colored bumper make the vehicle more attractive.

Interior

The internal cabin comes in a dual Beige and Black color scheme and is equipped with excellent utility features like low fuel warning light, multi-tripmeter, digital tachometer and speedometer. The car is incorporated with well cushioned seats and has central locking system, anti-glare interior rear view mirror, rear defogger, and keyless entry as the main features.

Engine and Transmission

The petrol variants are fitted with a 1.8 L engine having a 1798cc displacement capacity. It can produce a maximum torque of 173Nm at 4000rpm and a peak power output of 138.08bhp at 6400rpm. The mill is coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox and a 7-speed super CVT-i sequential shiftmatic transmission gearbox. The diesel trim is fitted with a 1.4-litre D-4D engine having a 1364cc displacement capacity. It can generate a peak torque output of 205Nm between 1800 to 2800rpm and a maximum power of 87.2bhp at 3800rpm. It is mated with a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox.

Mileage

The petrol variants can return 14.53 kmpl on the expressways and 9.5 kmpl on city roads. The automatic trims can return a maximum mileage of 13.5 kmpl. The diesel engines can generate 21.43 Kmpl on the highways and 18.4 Kmpl in the city roads.

Braking and Safety

The front wheels of the vehicle are equipped with a set of ventilated disc brakes, while the rear wheels are fitted with a set of conventional disc brakes. Its safety features include anti lock braking system, electronic stability program, driver seat belt notification, electronic brake force distribution system, high mount third brake light, central locking system, door ajar warning lamp and electronic engine immobilizer system. There are even airbags available for driver and his/her co-passenger to offer protection in the event of any accident.
